Welcome to the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory!

We are an interdisciplinary group working for a common theme of "Killing disease causing Bad Bugs with New Drugs". The focus of our research is circumscribed around understanding the biology of Mycobacterium species with an ultimate objective of developing strategies for successful interventions to stop the diseases (e.g. Tuberculosis) caused by these microorganism. Please visit our research page for more details.

Our laboratory takes an integrative approach using the principles/tools of microbiology, chemical genomics, biochemistry, biophysics, informatics, proteomics and chemical biology to address questions related to microbial growth, physiology, metabolism and antibiotic resistance unique to mycobacterium (almost always with a scope for therapeutic intervention).

We are looking for enthusiastic future members ready to work in our new BSL-3 lab

Facility Manager, JRF and a Technical Assistant positions available from August 2024 !!
